A free spell checker built into your resume
A typo is one of the first things a recruiter notices, and one of the easiest to avoid. Folium checks the spelling of your resume while you write it, in the language the resume is written in, and shows you the fix right where the mistake is.
How it works
- Misspelled words are underlined as you type. Click one to see the suggestions, ignore it, or add it to your dictionary.
- The Spelling button in the formatting bar shows how many words are left to check. Open it to review them all and use Fix all.
- Everything happens in your browser: the dictionaries are downloaded once and your text is not sent anywhere to be checked.
It checks the language of your resume, not of the app
The checker reads the language of what you wrote. If your interface is in English but your resume is in Spanish, it checks Spanish. A field written in another language (a course title in English inside a German resume, for example) is left alone instead of being covered in red lines.
Supported languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Catalan, Danish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai.
Few false alarms
Resumes are full of words no dictionary knows: company names, software, acronyms, surnames. A checker that marks all of them gets ignored. Folium only marks a word when the dictionary has a close correction for it, so Kubernetes or your employer's name stay clean while managment gets flagged.
What a spell checker won't catch
- Real words in the wrong place: manger instead of manager, form instead of from. Read your resume once out loud.
- Names: check the spelling of companies, schools and tools against their websites.
- Consistency: the same date format and the same tense in every job.

Open the editorFrequently asked questions
Is the resume spell checker free?
Yes. It's part of the Folium editor, with no account, no limit and no paid plan required.
Is my resume sent to a server to be checked?
No. The check runs in your browser with dictionaries downloaded to your device.
Does it check grammar?
No, it checks spelling. Real words used in the wrong place, like manger for manager, aren't flagged, so read your resume once before sending it.
Why isn't a word I typed in another language underlined?
On purpose: the checker follows the language of your resume and skips fields written in another language, so mixed resumes don't fill up with false alarms.
